K18 on waves

December 2022–April 2023

After my results with Olaplex I was obsessed with all sorts of hair-repair products, and in December I finally bit the bullet and purchased a small bottle of the K18 Molecular Hair Mask. I remember being rather conflicted—on the one hand, I wanted it to work because it was so expensive. But on the other hand, I sort of didn’t want it to work because it was so expensive, lol.

It worked really well and I was hooked. Thankfully a little goes a long way!

After that I just kept it up and the months passed. I don’t remember any particularly big developments or changes for the next couple months—things just slowly improved. I mostly got better at refreshing my washes in this time; day 1 was still the best day by a long shot, but I usually didn’t feel totally unpresentable on day 2 and 3 anymore.

My first K18 treatment. I kept it simple with a clarifying shampoo, k18, wait, and then the bowl method with some leave in conditioner and extra protein. Plopped and let it air dry. I think the waves are more noticeable when wet?

Washing and styling after my second at-home K18 treatment. I was absolutely FLOORED by this wash day. My waves were so juicy and clumpy! Compare this wash day to the one from the 17th and you’ll notice a big difference.

Letting my hair air dry with no product or styling. Even after nearly 6 months of wavy treatment/styling it’s still pretty convincingly straight—no wonder I thought it was straight for so long!
